Bitten Clausen died on 7 March 2016. She was 103 years old.
She was the widow of Mads Clausen, who founded Danfoss. After his death, Bitten Clausen established Bitten & Mads Clausen's Foundation, with the aim of bolstering Danfoss for the future.
Bitten Clausen always believed that people came first. Long before it became a concept followed by companies all over the world, Bitten introduced social responsibility at Danfoss and took responsibility for and looked after both the company’s employees and people in the local communities, where Danfoss is present. As the years went by, this work was taken over by a variety of Danfoss foundations.
