It is Christmas, and on TV, Christmas calendars can be viewed on every channel.
This year on TV2, you can watch the new Christmas calendar "The Comets' Christmas", produced by Nordisk Film Series for TV 2 and the Niels Bohr Institute at the University of Copenhagen, with support from the VILLUM FOUNDATION, the Novo Nordisk Foundation, Poul Due Jensen’s Foundation and Bitten & Mads Clausen’s Foundation.
In addition to the family Christmas calendar, the Universe Outside is also unfolding. The Niels Bohr Institute at the University of Copenhagen is behind this project in which children and adults can explore the real world of science. It kicks off the Science Year22, which aims to raise the level of basic scientific knowledge among Danes.
This focus on science is precisely the reason why Bitten & Mads Clausen’s Foundation has supported both the Christmas calendar and Science Year22. On the 100th anniversary of Niels Bohr's Nobel Prize, it is a clear and valuable initiative to draw attention to the natural sciences.
Bitten & Mads Clausen’s Foundation also supports the Universe Science Park and the KATA Foundation, both of which share the same goal: to educate and inform both children and adults about science in a fun, exciting and meaningful way.
By means of Christmas calendars, games and curiosity, the foundations behind “The Comets' Christmas” hope to awaken the interest of both young and older children and stimulate them towards a science education. After all, these are the very people who will be needed to develop sustainable solutions for the future.
