Alsik is the region's largest 4-star conference and business hotel, built in a high-quality Nordic design with above-average room sizes.
Alsik has 190 rooms, conference facilities, and Denmark's largest spa and wellness area, inspired by 'Nordic Living'. In addition, the hotel has a viewing floor that is open to the public, as well as several restaurants focusing on Nordic cuisine.
Among these is the Michelin-starred restaurant Syttende, located at the top of the beautiful building.

Alsik was designed by Henning Larsen Architects and, with its 19 floors and unique architecture, has become a landmark for Sønderborg in the scenic urban and natural area on the waterfront directly by Alssund.
Alsik creates synergy between business guests during the week and tourists on weekends, and provides the framework to attract large conferences and events to Sønderborg.
At the time of Alsik's opening, the many rooms were a significant expansion of the existing number of hotel rooms in Sønderborg. However, Alsik has proven to contribute to creating a new market in Sønderborg through facilities such as wellness and conferences, thereby helping to attract more overnight guests to Sønderborg.
The total investment for the project was approximately DKK 750 million. The construction of Alsik began on November 13, 2015, with the first sod being turned, and the hotel opened its doors in May 2019.
Alsik was designed and built with a focus on energy optimization, and built to be two energy classes better than what was required at the time of construction.
