Fabrikant Mads Clausen's Fond (The Mads Clausen Foundation) was established in 1960 by Mads Clausen to formalise and carry on his commitment to the local community. Today, the foundation acts as a key partner for Bitten & Mads Clausen's Foundation by distributing support for a wide range of purposes within leisure, sports, culture, education, and social initiatives.

The support from Fabrikant Mads Clausen's Fond reaches all corners of the local community. In the past year, it has enabled the creation of new urban spaces and playgrounds, secured better facilities for sports clubs, supported cultural flagships like the South Jutland Symphony Orchestra, and contributed to research and educational activities at the University of Southern Denmark in Sønderborg.

For Bitten & Mads Clausen's Foundation, the annual grant is a strategic investment in the local ecosystem. It ensures that the many associations and voluntary forces, which form the backbone of a vibrant local community, can receive funding to create activities and development. At the same time, it is a recognition of the important work done by Fabrikant Mads Clausen's Fond in assessing and supporting the many applications that come from committed local citizens and organisations.

The DKK 15 million grant ensures that Fabrikant Mads Clausen's Fond can continue its important mission in 2026 of making the Sønderborg area an attractive place to live, work, and thrive.
